It’s all or nothing in this single-session adventure.

Call of Cthulhu – Christmas in Kingsport

It’s Christmastime in the seaport town of Kingsport, Massachusetts, in 1927. Time for presents and food and cookies and all the wonderful things associated with the holidays. The best part is seeing cousins from nearby towns of Arkham, Dunwich, and even Innsmouth at this most festive time of the year. Unfortunately, they’re all staying at their great Aunt Nora’s with their families as they do every year. Aunt Nora is very set in her ways and Christmas is no exception.

On December 11, 2016, I ran a one-shot for Christmas. “Christmas in Kingsport” by Oscar Rios is a delightful little tale in the Christmas in Kingsport monograph. My players were Ashton and Collin.

Call of Cthulhu – Terror Over Tokyo 3: That Which Survives

I ran a Call of Cthulhu Game at the Appalachian State University Game Club Game Fest and LAN party on October 9, 2016. “Terror Over Tokyo 3: That Which Survives” took place during the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in April 1942. The B-25 Bomber that is part of the raid crashes in China and the crew has to deal with whatever is harassing a small Chinese village. My players were Alex, Mike, Jonathan, Collin, Ashton, and Alex.

Call of Cthulhu – Forbidden Cargo

Port Royal, Jamaica, in April of 1667 was rife with the rumor of a Spanish treasure ship setting sail from Panama with a load of gold, bound for Spain. The crew of the Sweet Vengeance decided it was time to set sail again – this time to pirate themselves some Spanish gold. Unfortunately, others had the same idea and the terrible adventure would lead them to an uncharted island past the Bahamas, a lost city, and the horror that lay beneath it.

Over the summer, I usually run scenarios for Call of Cthulhu in different time periods and this summer proved no exception. This summer, I ran the original scenario Forbidden Cargo. We played the single session on Sunday, July 10, 2016. My players were Ashton and Collin.

Call of Cthulhu – The King of Shreds and Patches Session Two

Learning of a threat to William Shakespeare’s life, the men who had been investigating the strange events in London in the winter of 1603 delve ever deeper into the terrors that are plaguing that fair city. They soon find they are not dealing with just one man but an entire cult. Consulting with Dr. John Dee helps them somewhat, but they might be the only thing that stands in the way of Hastur being summoned into the city.

Over the summer, I usually run scenarios for Call of Cthulhu in different time periods and this summer proved no exception. This summer, I ran The King of Shreds and Patches by Justin Hynes from Strange Aeons, continuing one character from last summer’s The Pirates of Candle Cove game. We played the second session on Sunday, June 5, 2016. My players were Kyle, Katie, James, and Collin.

Call of Cthulhu – The King of Shreds and Patches Session One

In the winter of the year 1603, the plague is stalking London with a vengeance. When a playwright friend of the former actor Vincent Hawksworth turns up dead and the friend of the love of Octavian Skern asks him to look for a friend, the two incidents seem related. A great conspiracy is afoot and only an actor, a printer, a criminal, a doctor, and a banker are willing to try to stop it.

We played this first session on Sunday, May 22, 2016. My players were Kyle, Katie, James, Ashton, and Collin.
