The final session of a two year-long Mage chronicle about the consequences of Infernalism and the difficult moral choices that accompany it. Initially a group of strangers, the PCs were each approached in their dreams by a demon called Porter, who asked them to help him recapture ten entities that escaped from Hell in exchange for the fulfillment of their greatest wishes. During the course of their mission, some succumbed to the temptation of easily acquired powers, bartering pieces of their souls for demonic abilities. Some struggled to balance their good intentions with the demands of their work, but found it impossible to keep their hands completely clean. Now, the mages find themselves in the middle of an ancient power struggle between Porter and his demon brother, Mr. Who, bound to take part in a battle that could lead all of them to a messy end. Who will triumph in this contest of Good vs. Evil vs. Slightly Less Evil, and how will the outcome affect the characters? Listen to find out!
Players / DRAMATIS PERSONAE:
Meyer / PETER: Originally a stage magician who wove true magick into his stage act, Peter slowly transformed from a well-intentioned loner into a power hungry demon-in-training with a lust for revenge. He now serves as Porter’s right hand man in the battle with Who, a position which could lead him into conflict with his best friend, Frank.
Will and Ed / FRANK and CHARLIE: A talent agent who served as Peter’s manager in simpler times. Early in the series, Frank experienced a traumatic magickal dissociative event, causing the selfish and self-destructive parts of his personality to manifest as Charlie, his doppelganger. Frank’s wife and children were recent casualties of a battle with a centuries-old archmage who sought to banish Who and Porter back to the nether realms. The two halves of Frank’s personality have since merged back into one person, but his agenda remains unknown. Will he take part in the fight, or will he try to complete the work of the man who killed his family?
Erik / KAREN: A Daughter of Ether and artist whose greatest desire was to gain a following for her artwork. Karen has been something of an unwilling participant in the goings on of the group for quite some time, and has developed a suit of power armor to augment her already extensive magickal prowess. Her only goal at this point is to survive unscathed.
Chris / THOMPSON: A dangerous sociopath who has no problems with doing any number of despicable things to those around him. Thompson has thrown his lot in with Mr. Who, although the exact terms of their alliance are yet to be determined.
Alex / MR. WHO (AVARICE): An ancient force of evil that was expelled from the Earth realm, along with his brother, Porter (Envy), at the dawn of time. For eons, they have been involved in a cyclical struggle for dominance, each one seeking to control the Heart of Man, the bejeweled artifact that binds them to our world. Now, Who is about to make a power play that will send his brother back to Hell and leave him in control of their shared influence over mankind.
