Boot Hill – The Manchester Mangler & Stable Fire and Bank Hold Up

Three people entered Promise City, Texas, on Monday, June 5, 1876. They had been travelling west for over a week together and had gotten to know each other pretty well. The stage had proven too expensive, so they were travelling on foot. The Reverend Jonathan McCreary was a preacher of the good word of the Lord. Todd Wolf looked like a boy and had a relatively soft voice. Juan Wallobee rode his mule, Sandy, who he had for years.

On Nov. 9, 2014, I ran a play test of Boot Hill (3rd Edition) to review it in Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine, using the introductory scenario from the game book. My players were James, Peri, and Logan.

Role playing journal of the game session can be found here:

Call of Cthulhu Campaign (High Point, NC) – Restless Dreams Part 5

I ran a short Call of Cthulhu 1920s campaign for some friends in High Point, North Carolina, back in 2012. The campaign started in Arkham, Massachusetts, but quickly moved to Silent Hill, Maine. Unfortunately, the campaign ended due to lack of interest in the players and was never completed.

The seventh and last session of the campaign continues the original scenario “Restless Dreams,” my adaption of Silent Hill II to Call of Cthulhu. This session sees the investigators exploring Brookhaven Hospital before being sucked into a deeper level of Silent Hill.

This game took place on July 19, 2012. My players were Jeff, Ken, Steve, and Erik.

The sixth session of the campaign continues the original scenario “Restless Dreams,” my adaption of Silent Hill II to Call of Cthulhu. This session sees the investigators cross Silent Hill to eventually arrive at Brookhaven Hospital.

This game took place on June 28, 2012. My players were Jeff, Ken, Steve, and Erik.

Numenera – The Devil’s Spine, Part 1.

THERE HAVE BEEN EIGHT PREVIOUS WORLDS.

Each world stretched across vast millennia of time. Each played host to a race whose civilizations rose to supremacy but eventually died or scattered, disappeared or transcended. During the time each world flourished, those that ruled it spoke to the stars, reengineered their physical bodies, and mastered form and essence, all in their own unique ways.

Each left behind remnants.

The people of the new world—the Ninth World—sometimes call these remnants magic, and who are we to say they’re wrong? But most give a unique name to the legacies of the nigh-unimaginable past. They call them…

NUMENERA

Yeah, it’s weird.  The Devil’s Spine is a campaign in which the players’ discovery leads them on a quest to save their own lives from an invasive parasite and prevent the spread of a virulent enemy that threatens all life in the Ninth World.

Unless they try to kill each other first.  They are player characters, after all.  :\

Call of Cthulhu Campaign (High Point, NC) – Restless Dreams Part 3

I ran a short Call of Cthulhu 1920s campaign for some friends in High Point, North Carolina, back in 2012. The campaign started in Arkham, Massachusetts, but quickly moved to Silent Hill, Maine. Unfortunately, the campaign ended due to lack of interest in the players and was never completed.

The fifth session continues the original scenario “Restless Dreams,” my adaption of Silent Hill II to Call of Cthulhu. The characters remain trapped in Silent Hill and even stumble across the terrible being known as Pyramid Head.

This game took place on May 31, 2012. My players were Jeff, Ken, Steve, and Erik.
