Call of Cthulhu Providence Campaign 37 – Dark Carnival Session One

A man was mauled and a woman goes missing in Swan Point Cemetery near the North Star Amusement Arcade and Pleasure Pier in the May of 1928. Such strange occurrence so close to Providence prompt our investigators to look into the carnival. Will they discover what happened?

I started running a Call of Cthulhu campaign for students at Appalachian State University in March 2014. The game was set in Providence, R.I., starting in the summer of 1925. The 37th session of the game took place on January 22, 2017, with the scenario “Dark Carvinal” by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians. My players were Ben, Collin, Ashton, Katelyn, and James.

Call of Cthulhu – Christmas in Kingsport

It’s Christmastime in the seaport town of Kingsport, Massachusetts, in 1927. Time for presents and food and cookies and all the wonderful things associated with the holidays. The best part is seeing cousins from nearby towns of Arkham, Dunwich, and even Innsmouth at this most festive time of the year. Unfortunately, they’re all staying at their great Aunt Nora’s with their families as they do every year. Aunt Nora is very set in her ways and Christmas is no exception.

On December 11, 2016, I ran a one-shot for Christmas. “Christmas in Kingsport” by Oscar Rios is a delightful little tale in the Christmas in Kingsport monograph. My players were Ashton and Collin.
