In the summer of 1927, Boston Herald columnist William Madison received a letter from private investigator Alex Talbot, an associate. More strange things were happening at an abandoned house in North Carolina and Talbot had no time (or inclination possibly) to deal with it. Madison decided to make a vacation of the request, taking with him his wife, librarian Susan Madison, photographer Walter Corden, city reporter Robert “Bobby” Simon, Dr. Harvey Gibbens, and Reverend Michael Fullbright. They would find things there that they could not explain.
