Skype Road Trip Session 4 – Sucrose Park Part 1

Following the grace of Daniel saving BattleTonia from certain Battlemageddon, the kids continue on their way to Sucrose Park, making a late-night stop at a small town hotel.  Following much hijinks (and attempted monster cannibalism?), the kids get to Sucrose Park the next day.

Come with us on a journey of fun, motion sickness, and sinus infections as we travel through the updated Sucrose Park (now with more Battlepets).

Skype Road Trip Session 3 – The Wizard

In the previous session (which was lost to failure on the part of a Skype Recorder), the kids dealt with the Sentai Rangers in their own way (aka violence).  Needless to say, everyone got pretty badly hurt, and the Sentai Rangers as they were known are no more.

Following recovery time for Daniel in the Sunny Vale hospital, they decided to move on with the Road Trip to their next destination:  Sucrose Park in Las Vegas, NV.  On their way up, they find a hitchhiking kid holding only an aluminum briefcase and a sign saying “VIDEO ARMAGEDDON OR BUST.”

You’re gonna love this episode.  It’s so bad.

Skype Road Trip Session 2 – Sunny Vale Part 1

School’s out for kids at Casimir Polaski Junior High in the city of San Frandiago, CA.  In a previous session of outright madness and poor recording quality, the kids stumbled onto the plot of an evil cult to banish all monsters to the Underworld as tribute for some kind of Ultimate Monster.  During their research, the kids stumbled across five bizarre and unique postcards relating to various machinations of the cult.

When presented all of their options, the kids decide to take a little trip to Sunny Vale, CA to meet the Sentai Rangers.  Hilarity ensues?

Thanks again to Sean for the artwork.

Skype Road Trip Session 1 – Ed’s Diner Redux

Buttz the BattleFrogA few weeks ago, I asked Sean and Alex if they wanted to playtest a few side adventures I had written for a Road Trip campaign I had been running.  Sean’s friend Nate (from Sordid Dystopia) also joined us.

Because of my failure during its run with my main group, I decided I would run Ed’s Diner for these guys to see what exactly went wrong with the session.  It turns out that apparently, there was much wrong.  When all was said and done, however, we wanted to make this into a full campaign.

Come along for the ride through various pop-culture references and the beginning of BattlePet Network, an inside joke that will live on in future games forevermore.  Thanks to Sean for the artwork.

Sucrose Park Finale

Two weeks ago, I ran Sucrose Park for a couple friends in Chicago.  Due to a sudden and unexpected time constraint, we had to turn this into a two-session game.  I didn’t have my recording equipment (pronounced “webcam”), but it was pretty sweet, so I brought my mic to record the final session.

This session includes the Brain Trust Dungeon Crawl and Robbie Drake, both of which were not seen in RPPR’s playtest.  I believe the entire scenario played for around 6 or 7 hours across both sessions.
