Private investigator Alex Talbot of Boston, Massachusetts, had been hired by an anonymous client to investigate a supposedly haunted house in the hills of North Carolina in the summer of 1926.  He figured it was a silly assignment, so brought his friend and associate Andrew Hastings, a psychiatrist, with him for a kind of vacation.  They would find things that neither of them would want to remember afterwards.

This game was originally run at MACE 2009 in High Point, NC, on November 8, 2009.  It is the first scenario in The Phantom of Wilson Creek, a monograph I wrote that was recently published by Chaosium.  As the first group did not figure out or stop what was haunting the house, I figured a second group might be hired by the first to do so.  The original name of the scenario was simply “The Inheritance” and the role playing journals of the events here can be found at:
